Red Sox, Porcello Agree To Extension Through 2019

The Boston Red Sox have signed Rick Porcello to a four-year contract extension that runs through the 2019 season.

The deal is worth $82.5 million, according to a Major League source.

It breaks down to a $500,000 signing bonus, $20 million in 2016 and 2017 and $21 million in 2018 and 2019. His 2015 contract remains at $12.5 million.

The average annual value of the contract is $20.625 million.

The Indians have agreed with 2014 AL Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber to a guaranteed five-year extension pending a physical exam, a baseball source told ESPN.com on Saturday.

The deal includes two option years.

Kluber, 28, enjoyed a major breakthrough in 2014, posting an 18-9 record with a 2.44 ERA and 269 strikeouts.

Giants Agree Upon Extensions With Bruce Bochy, Brian Sabean

The San Francisco Giants have agreed to extend the contracts of Bruce Bochy and Brian Sabean through "at least" the 2018 season.

The agreements also bring a promotion for Sabean, who becomes San Francisco's president of baseball operations. His longtime assistant, Bobby Evans, is now the club's general manager.

Bochy and Sabean were under contract through the 2016 season.
